Located in Irvine, California, AmeriClerkships Medical Society helps international medical students and graduates secure placement within medical residency programs based in the United States. Extremely active within the medical industry, AmeriClerkships Medical Society maintains membership with several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).
Founded in 1947, the AAFP is a national organization that represents family doctors. As one of the largest medical associations in the country, the AAFP has a membership of more than 124,000 physicians and medical students nationwide. The organization’s goals include being an advocate for patients and the public, promoting cost-effective health care, and maintaining high standards within the medical profession.
In late April 2016, the AAFP announced that it promoted Greg Belshe to director of its information technology (IT) division. Mr. Belshe joined the IT division in 1998 and worked in numerous roles, including manager of IT planning. His team was responsible for planning and executing technology-based projects. In his new position, Mr. Belshe will plan, support, and execute all of AAFP’s IT functions, along with developing new technological solutions.
